PMI‘s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is the most recognized and respected project management certification.
General Project Experience
Agile Project Experience
- 1,500 hours working on agile project teams or with agile methodologies
- This is in addition to the 2,000 hours of “general project experience”
- These hours must be earned within the last 3 years
Training in Agile Practices
- 21 contact hours in agile practices
- Pass either computer or paper exam
There are a few different prices based on the how you take the exam:

Length of Training Class
No direct training class. Prep classes or other agile training classes are available though and typically recommended.
Includes Certification Test
Step 1: Register with PMI & Login or Print the Application. Optionally join PMI for $139/year (which will save you $60 in exam fees, or $120 if you have to take it twice). Application approval typically takes 3-5 days.
Step 2: Satisfy the requirements.
Step 3: Optionally, take an PMI-ACP prep course.
Step 4: Schedule your exam within 1 year of your application being approved.
Step 5: Take and pass the exam.
What If You Fail?
Retake the exam for the following costs. You can retake the exam up to 3 times within your year of application approval.

Requires Renewal: Yes, every 3 years from certification date through Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program.
