What is Project Management?

At the most basic level, Project Management is the practice of planning and executing projects using a variety of knowledge, skills, techniques and other resources.

Advantages

-There is a lot of information, resources and tools available to assist with Project Management

-When planned and executed using the right resources and strategy for a given project, Project Management can be a great resource for delivering successful projects

Disadvantages

-Often times, especially when applied to software projects, traditional Project Management can be too “heavyweight”

-Because of practices of “locking down” scope, traditional Project Management can stifle innovation and not be as easily adaptable
